The entire month of February was a blessed, inspiration, and enjoyable month for Carter’s Chapel. From dynamic preaching and teaching from Overseer Michael E. Ingram, uplifting worship in song rendered by the Carter’s Chapel Mass Choir, and to dances of praise given by the A.G.A.P.E. Praise Dancers, all who attended the worship services were filled with God’s Goodness.
First Lady Ingram promised us a great time for Black History Month, and she did not disappoint! During morning worship on February 21st, Carter’s Chapel’s Drama Ministry presented a hilarious, thought-provoking production called At the Gate.
The play gave a humorous account of the gates of Heaven as the nearly deceased wait in line to discover their fate. The play begins with St. Peter (portrayed by Minister James Becton) preparing his notes for the new class of candidates. God’s (portrayed by Brother Travis Wilson) voice is heard booming through the heavens, advising Peter to begin the screening.
Carter’s Chapel is blessed with a Fist Lady who has a passion for youth and young adults. God granted her a vision of emphasizing the accomplishments and needs of younger generations during Black History Month. Each year, Carter’s is blessed with treats throughout the month, and this year was no exception.
Sunday, January 3rd, 2010 was a bittersweet day for the members of Carter’s Chapel Full Gospel Baptist Church. Our Minister of Music of 7 years was humbly stepping down from his position at Carter’s to fulfill responsibilities of his own church. To celebrate God’s work in him over the years, and to support him in his decision in ministry, Carter’s Chapel gathered for one night to give God praise for the gift that is Pastor Marlon Bradford.
Pastor Marlon Bradford arrived at Carter’s Chapel at a pivotal time in our history. We were at a threshold of new ministry opportunities, and we were in need of a Minister of Music. Our prayers were answered in the form of one Pastor Marlon Bradford. The Senior Pastor of Victorious Living Church in Memphis, TN, he is a man of many gifts. In addition to being a loving pastor and passionate teacher, he can work wonders on a piano and organ. After arriving on the scene, Pastor Bradford quickly assessed the skill set of the choir and began to do God’s work through our music ministry.
